One Year of Podcasting: What I’ve Learned About Consistency, Intuition, and Growth

A year ago, I hit record on my very first podcast episode not knowing exactly what would come of it. I was following a nudge, a fire in my gut that said, "Share your voice. Start now."

Twelve months and many episodes later, I find myself reflecting on everything this experience has taught me—not just about podcasting, but about myself. About what it means to show up consistently. About intuition. About self-trust. And about what’s possible when you stop waiting for the perfect moment and simply begin.

If you’re someone who’s ever struggled with sticking to something — whether it’s fitness, nutrition, or just showing up for yourself — I want to share what I’ve learned about consistency, courage, and listening to your body.

Lesson 1: Consistency Isn’t Sexy, But It’s Powerful

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned this year is about consistency. Not just showing up when it's exciting or fresh — but continuing to show up when it’s mundane, when it’s uncomfortable, when it’s tempting to quit.

Historically, I’ve struggled with sticking to one path for long. I’m a multi-passionate millennial who gets bored easily, and once I master something, I often move on. But this podcast — like my strength training routine — has taught me the value of staying the course.

Showing up consistently, even when I wasn’t sure anyone was listening, even when I wasn’t totally clear on the direction—that’s what built momentum. And the same goes for fitness. I’ve been consistent at the gym for 2.5 years now, and that discipline helped me build the muscle, strength, and energy I have today. Not overnight. But little by little, over time.

Consistency isn’t always glamorous or exciting, but it’s what builds results—in health, in life, and in creative expression. Trusting what lights me up and showing up for that regularly has changed me.

Trusting what lights me up and creating space for that regularly has changed me. This podcast became a creative outlet for self-expression and self-trust — a place where I could show up as I am and keep building something meaningful, one episode at a time.

Lesson 2: Intuition Is a Health Practice

We live in a world that constantly tells us to outsource our worth — to numbers on the scale, to how we look, to someone else’s approval. But when you pause and check in with yourself, when you learn to trust your own inner cues, that’s where healing really begins.

This year has also brought up deep personal moments—including navigating relationships that didn’t work out, but brought me closer to myself. Even short-lived experiences can be powerful when they mirror back what you’re still healing.

I was reminded that no matter how much external noise is out there, your body is your wisest guide. Your gut instincts, your energy, your felt sense of what is right or wrong—those are worth listening to.

In a world full of information, you have to filter it through your own system. Your intuition. Your lived experience. It’s one of the most powerful things you can do for your health.

You don’t need to outsource your self-worth to a number on the scale or to someone else’s validation. You already have the answers. Your job is to trust yourself enough to listen.

Information is powerful — but always run it through your own system. If it doesn’t feel good in your body, it’s not your truth.

Lesson 3: You Already Have the Blueprint

One of the most surprising reflections of this year is how much I’ve grown through simply staying. By committing to the podcast, I learned that I already have a blueprint for success—and so do you. Whether it’s health, career, spirituality, finances, or relationships, look at where you naturally thrive.

Then take what works and apply it to the areas where you struggle. I realized the same qualities that help me stay consistent in the gym—showing up when it’s hard, focusing on small daily habits, celebrating slow progress—are the same ones that fuel me creatively and emotionally.

Lesson 4: Storytelling Connects Us All

Another unexpected gift of podcasting has been how much I love listening. I’ve fallen in love with other people’s stories—the vulnerability, the nuance, the depth. Holding space and asking thoughtful questions has helped me feel less alone.

When someone shares their truth, it reflects something back to all of us. I see myself in nearly every conversation I record. And each episode helps me make a little more sense of my own life.

Final Reflection: What If It’s Okay To Learn the Same Lesson More Than Once?

Something I’ve been thinking about a lot lately is how life will teach you the same lesson over and over until it truly sinks in. And even then, it might pop back up again later when you least expect it. That doesn’t mean you failed. It just means you’re human. And instead of seeing that as failure, I’ve learned to see it as refinement. Like lifting weights, every rep builds strength — even if it feels like we’ve been here before. This is just part of being human. And when we accept that, we can move forward with a lot more grace.

What kind of pressure could we release if we accepted that healing and growth are not linear?

This podcast, in so many ways, has become a space where I return to the same core truths again and again—each time with a little more clarity, a little more depth, and a little more grace.

Your Turn: Reflect With Me

If you’re in a place where you’re just starting something new, or maybe you’re doubting yourself on a path you’ve already chosen, I want to invite you to reflect with me:

  • Where have you already shown consistency in your life? What did it teach you?
  • What lights you up, and how can you commit to it more regularly?
  • What has your intuition been whispering to you lately?
  • Are you being asked to revisit an old lesson with new eyes?

Your journey is yours—and you don’t have to get it perfect. You just have to keep showing up.
